About Hanna Kurniawati

Hanna Kurniawati is a Professor of Computing and holds the SmartSat Chair for System Autonomy, Intelligence, and Decision-making. In 2019, she started the Robotics group at the ANU School of Computing, specialising on sequential-decision making in robotics. Her work has received multiple awards, including the Robotics: Science and Systems Test of Time Award 2021 for work that pioneer the practicality of rigorous sequential decision-making under uncertainty in robotics, specifically in non-deterministic and partially observed scenarios. Her research interests include robotics, planning under uncertainty, motion planning, applications of computational geometry, integrated planning and learning, and reinforcement learning. She was a Senior Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and a Program Co-Chair for IEEE Int. Conf. on Robotics and Automation (ICRA)'22, and is a Senior Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Robotics.
