Creative AI uses innovation in approaching art by merging human creativity with machine intelligence. Our experts use AI to experiment and produce artistic outputs, and also find ways on how AI can support social and cultural change. ANU is a hub of opportunities for Creative AI from music, to video games, to art. Among Creative AI opportunities that are available in ANU include:
Computational Culture Lab
The Computational Culture Lab works at the intersection of theory, practice and policy to investigate the politics, aesthetics and applied potentials of post-digital culture. Located at the School of Art & Design, we work in partnership with contemporary art and cultural heritage institutions, industry, NGOs and an international network of researchers spanning art, media and cultural studies, humanities and design scholarship.
Sound, Music, and Creative Computing
The Sound, Music and Creative Computing Lab aims to develop new musical instruments that sense and understand music, actively assisting musicians during performances. We apply computational intelligence, AR/VR, and sonic interaction design in creative contexts. We explore how creative computing can inform studies of collaboration, spatial interaction, and decision making.
